Course Info
The 45-hour Hybrid Wilderness EMS Upgrade course starts with 8 hours of self-paced, online work followed by 37 hours over 4 days of in-person learning. The online section is emailed to you and available on Canvas approximately one month before the classroom section begins and consists of reading, case studies, videos, animations and quizzes. The online material must be completed by the start date of the classroom section.
Prerequisite: Current CPR and professional medical license (minimum of an EMT).

You must have a valid EMT/NREMT Basic or higher to register for this course.
What is a hybrid course?
Your Hybrid WFR consists of two parts:
Online Section
- 10 hours of self-paced pre-course work
- Available one month before the in-person section
- Must be completed before the first day of in-person class
- Included in the cost of the course
In-person Section
- 4 days in-person
- Builds skills through realistic, hands-on scenario practice
